For years we've talked about how great it would be to get away from Maine winters and get down to Florida where we could do the hiking and kayaking we love. After a lot of research and discussion with Maine "snow birds", we decided that the greater Fort Myers area held the most promise for us. I can't tell you how glad we are to get hooked up with you and Marc through a Remax realtor I had worked with in Maine. Starting with our first phone conference, we really got our hopes up that you were the right people to help us find our Florida dream home. Our hopes were confirmed when we meet you two in your office. Instead of trying to push us into something, you took the time to listen to what we wanted (single family waterfront home on a kayakable river a bit off the beaten track if possible) but didn't have much of an idea where to find it. As it turned out Marc's quite the fisherman and boater; his wealth of knowledge really helped us to home in on the best areas for us and you came up with a bunch of available properties. Not surprisingly, we quickly found our perfect place.
You both took the time to help us evaluate it objectively, including a market analysis and a buying strategy that worked. I think at this point, a lot of realtors would have felt their job was pretty much done, but, for us, the work of getting a home inspection, insurance, utilities, security and maintenance in place had just begun. And you were there for us, offering us choices among people you knew to be reliable and honest, coming back to the house several times with us to meet them and help us get everything in place before we had to leave. Somehow, between the two of you, you had, or quickly found, the answers to all of our dozens of questions from how to run the air conditioner when the house is vacant, finding out who made the flooring, how to work the boat lift, and the best way to fix a few loose tiles in the shower. Plus your careful review of the closing statement saved us a bundle! We really felt that you two were there for us through the whole thing. Buying a house can be an anxious and stressful experience; you made it exciting and fun for us.
